Vehicle crashes into barricade near US Capitol

WASHINGTON — U.S. Capitol Police said they were investigating a vehicle that struck a barricade at the congressional complex on Friday.

The vehicle did not enter the secure perimeter at the Capitol and its driver was taken into custody, police spokeswoman Kimberly Schneider said. Streets were temporarily closed in the area.
