Las Vegas police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man in connection with an attempted armed robbery in a southwest valley parking lot.
Police say the man tried to rob two people on Jan. 27 in a parking lot near the 5600 block of S. Grand Canyon Drive, near Russell Road, about 9:25 p.m. The man approached the two people on foot and asked for a cigarette. When the people gave him a cigarette, the man took out a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money, police said.
One person screamed for help and the man fled on foot. He was last seen running westbound on Russell from Grand Canyon.
The man is described as about 18 to 20 years old with a medium build standing 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 130 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, red shoes, orange gloves and armed with a black handgun.
