Security guard says Mayweather poked him in the face

Champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. can't seem to keep his fingers -- in this case one finger -- out of legal trouble.

Las Vegas police responded to a battery call about 5:40 p.m. Monday to the ritzy Southern Highlands development after a security guard alleged Mayweather poked him "several times" in the face following a confrontation over a parking citation, authorities said.

Officer Jay Rivera said the alleged incident resulted in a report of misdemeanor battery which will be reviewed by the police department's violent crimes section.

The case then will be submitted to the Clark County District Attorney's office for review.

No arrest was made because the incident did not happen in front of an officer, Rivera said.

Officers who responded to the scene attempted to contact Mayweather at a $9.5 million, 12,000-square-foot mansion on Wood Creek Court where the boxer reportedly lives, but the 33-year-old did not answer the door.

The parking citation was the result of a violation of one of the Southern Highlands homeowner association rules, Rivera said. The security guard was not injured.

Mayweather reportedly has lived in Southern Highlands since the 2008 theft of $7 million in jewelry from his Summerlin home.

Meanwhile, Mayweather awaits a January preliminary hearing in Las Vegas Justice Court for several felony charges relating to a domestic violence incident with his three children and their mother, Josie Harris.

Mayweather faces eight charges that stem from a Sept. 9 dispute, including felony coercion, grand larceny, robbery and misdemeanor domestic violence.

Mayweather remains free on $31,000 bail in that case.
