Bo Jackson to host fantasy baseball championship in Vegas

Bo Jackson will host FanDuel’s World Fantasy Baseball Championship at the Cosmopolitan on August 21 and 22. The former baseball and football star also will host FanDuel’s first ever Home Run Derby on Aug. 21 at Big League Dreams, where he’ll take batting practice and give advice to the 90 finalists who will compete in a one-day fantasy baseball league for a first-place prize of $1 million.

“I can’t wait to go to Vegas for FanDuel’s World Fantasy Baseball Championship,” Jackson, 52, said in a statement. “I’ll be back on the baseball diamond playing against FanDuel’s users, watching the games with them and handing a fantasy baseball player a check for a million dollars at the end of the weekend.”

Each participant qualifies through daily fantasy baseball leagues on FanDuel.com, and is awarded a Las Vegas trip package that includes airfare, transportation, a three-night stay at the Cosmopolitan and a minimum of $10,000.
