Mountain West football coaches huddle up for media days in Las Vegas

Will Boise State bounce back this season after failing to advance to the Mountain West title game last year?

Will the Broncos and defending conference champion San Diego State meet in the MW title game with matching 12-0 records? And if the MW champ finishes 13-0, will it be included in the College Football Playoff?

Will UNLV continue to rise in its second season under coach Tony Sanchez?

Will a MW member bolt for the Big 12 when the Power Five conference expands?

Those are some of the storylines that will be discussed at the Mountain West Football Media Days, which will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

The league will announce its 2016 predicted order of finish and preseason all-conference teams at 8 a.m. Tuesday via Facebook Live on the MW’s official Facebook page.

Aztecs senior running back Donnel Pumphrey, a Canyon Springs High School product, is the reigning MW Offensive Player of the Year, and Rebels junior wide receiver Devonte Boyd, a Basic High graduate, is a two-time second-team all-conference pick.

MW commissioner Craig Thompson will answer questions from the media at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Players and coaches from the Mountain Division (Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State, Wyoming) will take center stage Tuesday, and the West Division (UNLV, UNR, San Diego State, Fresno State, Hawaii, San Jose State) will be featured Wednesday.
