Texas police question NFL player Manziel over domestic incident

Professional football quarterback Johnny Manziel has been questioned by police in Fort Worth, Texas, over an altercation with his girlfriend, local television station KXAS reported on Saturday.

Fort Worth police spokeswoman Tracey Knight told the station officers did not arrest Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner for Texas A&M who has played for the Cleveland Browns since 2014.

Knight could not immediately be reached for comment.

Police planned to release more details on the incident later on Saturday, according to KXAS-TV.

Manziel, who was known by the nickname "Johnny Football" during his standout college years has seen his reputation for partying overshadow his career with the Browns, where he has only sporadically been used as a starting quarterback.

In October, Manziel was questioned by police in Ohio after witnesses reported him driving dangerously and getting physical in an altercation with his girlfriend. He was cleared of any wrongdoing in the incident.
