Rousey rips Mayweather, says he can text her ‘when he learns to read and write’

Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will probably never trade blows in an official fight, but Rousey appears to relish taking shots at Mayweather through the media.

Confronted by a TMZ camera crew Tuesday as she walked her dog in Los Angeles, Rousey brought up Mayweather, claiming she makes more money per second than the "Money" man and essentially calling him illiterate along the way.

"It's kind of funny. People bring up pay to me a lot. I don't know if you saw the Floyd thing. He said, 'You make $300 million a night, then you can give me a call,'" Rousey said. "And I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I'm actually the highest-paid UFC fighter and I'm a woman.

"I think I actually make 2-to-3 times more than he does per second, so when he learns to read and write, he can text me then."

The cameraman asked, "So per second you actually make more than he does?"

Ronda responded, "Yeah, I'm just a little bit more efficient."

The UFC women's bantamweight champion was responding to Mayweather's recent comments on ESPN that "I've yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me."

The beef between the two started last year, when Mayweather said of Rousey: "I don't even know who he is."

Rousey has since referenced Mayweather's history of domestic violence in two classic quotes. When asked in May if she'd ever consider fighting Floyd, she said, "I don't think that me and him would ever fight, unless we ended up dating."

Rousey fired on Mayweather again in July at the ESPYs after winning the award for "Best Fighter."

"I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once," she said. "I'd like to see him pretend too not know who I am now."

Asked about Rousey's comments on ESPN, Mayweather complimented and congratulated her before bringing up how much money he made.

Based on Mayweather's claim of making $300 million for his May 3 fight against Manny Pacquiao, he made $138,888 per second. If Rousey earned $138,888 per second for her 34-second fight against Bethe Correia on Aug. 3, she would have made $4.7 million. Earning two to three times more per second than Mayweather would come out to between $9.4 million and $14.1 million.

Hearing Rousey take shots at Mayweather: priceless.
