UNLV’s Jordan Cornish to transfer to Cal

UNLV guard Jordan Cornish announced Monday on Twitter he is transferring to California.

The 6-foot 6-inch sophomore guard has been shopping for schools.

“I want to thank the (UNLV) coaching staff and fans for an amazing two years and an experience that’ll forever be close to my heart,” Cornish wrote. “Also to my teammates who went to war with me thank you for being there through it all, you guys will forever have a brother in me. With that being said I will be furthering my education and expanding my athletic talent with the California Golden Bears.”

Cornish started seven of the 33 games in which played this season, averaging 6.2 points.

Teammate Dwayne Morgan also is looking to transfer, but has not announced a destination.
