Lady Rebels’ Miller named Mountain West basketball player of week

UNLV senior guard Danielle Miller was named the Mountain West women’s basketball player of the week Monday, the second time this season she has won the award.

Miller scored 22 points in the Lady Rebels’ 73-70 overtime victory Wednesday at conference leader Fresno State, the team’s first victory there since 1992. She hit a 24-foot jumper at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, then made two free throws with 4.4 seconds left in OT to clinch the win, which ended Fresno State’s 17-game home winning streak.

Miller followed with the first double-double of her career, getting 15 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in UNLV’s 82-61 victory Saturday over Air Force at Cox Pavilion.
