Roscoe Smith to join Lakers in training camp

Former UNLV forward Roscoe Smith has been signed to the Los Angeles Lakers training camp roster, Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak announced on Tuesday.

Smith, who played two years at the University of Connecticut before moving to UNLV, averaged 11.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game as a junior for the Rebels last season. He declared for the NBA Draft at the end of the season.

Smith went undrafted, but played in 5 summer league games with the Lakers, averaging 5 points.

The Lakers also annpunced the signings of Keith Appling, Jabari Brown and Jeremy Tyler to their training camp roster on Tuesday.

Smith’s UNLV teammate Khem Birch signed with the Miami Heat earlier this month.
