Attack on disabled man recorded, posted on his Facebook page

Two Detroit men stole a cell phone belonging to a 23-year-old man with cerebral palsy, then recorded as they beat him, police said. Afterwards, they posted it on his Facebook page, ABC reported.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Department, Nikey Dashone Walker and Shadeed Dontae Bey were arrested in a stairwell at the victim's apartment complex following the Sunday morning attack in Pontiac, Mich.

"Preying on those in our community who suffer from disabilities will not be tolerated and furthermore, to have the audacity to post their actions on the victim's page is beyond belief." Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a statement.

Although authorities have not released the name of the victim, Frankie Santana told a local news station that he was the man who was assaulted.

Santana says the men spit and stomped on him, which injured one of his eyes. However, he said that "nothing is broken."

"Why would they do that and put it on Facebook? That's how you are going to get caught real quickly," Santana said.

Investigators said they were told the men had also posted the video on their own Facebook pages. The victim's phone was found at the home of one of the suspects.

Santana told the local news station that in order to get help after the attack he "crawled through the hallway and knocked on someone's door."

Walker and Bey, both 20, were arraigned on charges including assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Both suspects are being held on $25,000 bond ahead of a court date scheduled for next week.
