Calm down, the White House isn’t banning selfies

The White House is not working on banning selfies with the president, despite rumors that rocketed around the Internet on Monday morning.

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer suggested Sunday on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” that due to the fallout from the Red Sox’s David Ortiz’ marketing selfie with Pres. Obama, we might be seeing “the end of all selfies.”

The Internet abruptly freaked out, but White House spokesman Jay Carney clarified on Monday that Pfeiffer had made the remarks in jest: “There’s no discussion of a ban,” he said, according to ABC News.
