Catcallers at gas station throw metal pipe at teen girl’s face

A Louisiana teenager was left with a nearly detached lip and at least 10 missing teeth after a trip to the gas station turned violent.

Jessica Byrnes-Laird said a man within a group of catcallers threw a brass pipe at her face through the passenger-side window of her boyfriend's car after a day spent swimming. 

Byrnes-Laird, wearing a bikini on Sunday, said the men approached her car while her boyfriend went inside, KTSB reported. When her boyfriend came outside and heard what they said were lewd comments, he fought the men. The fight was captured on security cameras.

He went back to his car to leave, and that's when Byrnes-Laird said one of the men — just off camera — threw a brass pipe at her face.

"There's a little bit of fear, honestly, because going through this make you realize how delicate life is, and you never know what can happen," she told KTSB. She was left with a disfigured lip and broken teeth that will require costly dental surgery.

Shreveport Police are asking anyone who can help identify the men in the video to come forward.
