NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUP
PLANNED THURSDAY

Republic Services plans a neighborhood clean up Thursday for the Romano Ridge and Polly Gonzalez Memorial Park neighborhoods.

The city of Las Vegas-sponsored event is set to include areas north of Ann Road and south of El Campo Grande Avenue between the west side of Tropic Mist Street and Bradley Road. Areas north of El Campo Grande and south of Tropical Parkway between Bradley and the east side of Sassa Street will also be included in the clean up.

The city advises residents in those areas to store unwanted items, trash and debris in a tied bag, if possible, and to bundle brush and tree limbs in lengths 6 feet or less. Stoves, washers, driers and refrigerators must have doors removed before pick up. Hazardous materials , such as dry or liquid chemicals, paints, oils, tires, batteries, railroad ties, medical waste, propane cylinders or compressed gasses , will not be accepted. Air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers and other appliances containing freon must be separated from other metal items containing nonfreon refrigerants.
