INTEL: Cache opens flaghip at Fashion Show

Another national fashion brand has opened a Las Vegas flagship store.

Caché opened a 2,800-square-foot flagship at the Fashion Show mall near Neiman Marcus. The boutique carries a mix of ready-to-wear and accessories.

Design elements of the new boutique include a gilded birdcage and treasure chest fixtures. Gold, silver and leather accent the store, and architectural firm Kramer Design Group created the concept.

The Venetian and Palazzo are throwing an Italian fete to end all fetes. At least if you’re a food fan, that is.

La Cucina Italiana Food &Wine Festival is a four-day Italian epicurean experience. Scheduled from Dec. 5 to 8, the event is part of the resort’s third-annual Winter in Venice. The festival features Chefs Mario Batali, Buddy Valastro, Dario Cecchini, Wolfgang Puck, Roberto Caporuscio and Anthony Giglio.

Events include a $250-per-person dinner with Puck at Cut and a $500-per-person grand banquet featuring dishes from Batali and Cecchini pairing new and old-world Italy. The banquet will be Tuscan-style, on a long table in the hotel’s Grand Colonnade, and will include 24-month Galardi prosciutto and risotto with white truffle.

Meeting professionals, next week is your week.

If you’ve been looking to squeeze in some time for education, this is your chance. IMEX America will be at Sands Expo from Oct. 14 to 17 featuring a professional education program powered by Meeting Professionals International. The majority of the education earns CMP/ clock hours or other accreditation.

On Oct. 14 there will be a program on security, risk and crisis management plus expert seminars delivered by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International and the International Special Events Society.

Several industry hot topics are set to dominate the education schedule this year, with data mining top of mind for many: Think sessions on event ROI and becoming a data-driven event organizer. Another popular topic will be technology and apps, and a dedicated track will include sessions on Evernote and Spotify.

IMEX America is an exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events.

Looking for a retail lease on Las Vegas Boulevard?

Miracle Mile Shops launched www.DoTheMile.com, a new leasing website that provides prospective tenants with details about the 475,000-square-foot retail property surrounding Planet Hollywood Resort.

Among other things, the site highlights the center’s sales per square foot for current retail and dining operations.

Led by General Manager Jerry Irwin, Miracle Mile has more than 72,000 visitors each day. The center features 170 specialty stores, 15 restaurants and live entertainment venues. It’s owned by David Edelstein and Aby Rosen, in conjunction with leasing and marketing consultant Robert K. Futterman &Associates LLC.

Low-price food retailers are slowly but surely increasing market share.

According to its Future of Food Retailing report, Willard Bishop found that market share of low-cost grocery options such as wholesale clubs, supercenters and dollar stores, is increasing.

In 2007, the segment held 28.5 percent of the market, while in 2012 it held 32.9 percent. In 2017, low-cost is projected to hold 35.6 percent of the grocery market. The report cited the post-recession economy and tightened budgets as the reason, and said that consumers aren’t likely to ever return to pre-recession spending habits that were more frivolous.
