Luxury home teeters on edge of crumbling cliff

A luxury home in Texas is currently teetering on the edge of a 75-foot cliff as the land beneath it collapses.
The 4,000 square-foot-home above Lake Whitney, about 55 miles south of Fort Worth, has been condemned and the owners evacuated about two weeks ago.
The home is literally dangling over a rocky shoreline after the land around it began crumbling Tuesday.
“I immediately thought it was an earthquake or blasting; it was loud, really loud,” Connie Ash, who lives across the lake, told WFAA-TV. “And then I saw smoke, dust, water… I don’t know, it was a huge cloud of stuff.”
According to the Hill County Sheriff a crack in the cliff was discovered about a year ago and that’s when the house, valued at more than $700,000, was condemned.
And to make matters worse for the owners, WFAA is reporting they’ll be responsible for the cleanup.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
