Man shot over comments on Facebook about slain rapper

A teenager from Chicago shot a man over comments made on Facebook about slain rapper Young Pappy, prosecutors told NBC Chicago.

Four days after the rapper, whose real name is Shaquon Thomas, 20, was gunned down, Germel Dossie, 17, allegedly shot Clifton Frye over comments Frye made about Thomas on Facebook.

Thomas was reportedly killed in May after posting a video making fun of a rival gang.

Frye is currently in critical condition at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill., Assistant State’s Attorney Akash Vyas said.

Dossie asked a friend to drive him to the Rogers Park neighborhood on June 1. The friend said he heard three or four shots, Vyas told NBC Chicago.

Footage of the incident showed Dossie and the car’s license plate. Assistant Public Defender Sandra Bennewitz said in court Dossie, a sophomore in high school, was a member of a gang called the Insane Cutthroat Gangsters.

It is unknown what and when Frye posted on Facebook.
