SheaXero feature pulls high summer power bills down

Shea Homes at Ardiente plans to reimburse homebuyers their current electric bill as much as $150 when they tour the age-qualified community before May 26.

The SheaXero — No Electric Bill Homes feature is offered in all homes within this resort-style community. Company representatives said it will save thousands of dollars a year on homeowner’s monthly electricity bills.

Thanks to a combination of energy-efficient features and a SolarCity solar-power system, Ardiente’s SheaXero homes can save homeowners as much as $3,000 a year on monthly electricity bills, company officials said.

“Our electric bill is now zero – wow,” Lavone Oldale said.

Ardiente homeowners Kat Snell and Deb Dwelly said they were equally excited about their SheaXero home.

“There is nothing like going green with a SheaXero home. Would I do it again? Would I spread the word? I would yell it from the rooftops,” Kat Snell said.

“SheaXero owners are saving thousands of dollars a year,” said Kyle Tibbitts, general manager of Shea Homes at Ardiente. “Our residents say that they feel like owning a SheaXero home is like putting money back in their wallet, and it’s true. From the money saved with SheaXero homes all the way to the extensive amenities Ardiente offers, homeowners are living a resort lifestyle without all the extra costs.”

He said Ardiente is offering SheaXero features at no additional cost. Current SheaXero homeowners will collectively save over $16 million on their electric bills over the next 10 years, he said.

Ranked one of the top-selling communities in Southern Nevada, Ardiente is at 5840 Summit Greens in Las Vegas. Among its resort-style amenities is a 20,000-square-foot Club featuring two resort-style pools, fitness center, lighted tennis courts lined for pickle ball, bocce courts, chipping and putting greens, billiards room, game room and business center.
