Town Advisory Boards to meet

The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Paradise Recreation and Community Services Center, 4775 S. McLeod Drive.

The Winchester Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive.

The Whitney Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Whitney Recreation Center, 5712 E. Missouri Ave.

The Sunrise Manor Town Advisory Board is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Hollywood Recreation and Community Services Center, 1650 S. Hollywood Blvd.

Government Surplus Auction planned

A government surplus auction is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 4320 Stephanie St., near Horseman's Park. The auction will include vehicles, electronic equipment, unclaimed luggage from McCarran International Airport and other surplus items from several government entities.

WWE viewing party planned

A viewing party for the Pay-Per-View event, the WWE Survivor Series, is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Sam's Town, 5111 Boulder Highway. Toy Drive to help Booker Elementary

Christmas en el Barrio, a toy drive benefiting the children of Booker Elementary School, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Joe's Barber Shop and Abuela's Tacos at 4225 E. Sahara Ave. The businesses plan to collect toys for children 5 to 10, and 15 percent of all sales that day will go to the toy drive. BUY ONLINE TO HELP GIRL SCOUTS

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada plans to launch Green Friday on Friday, a weeklong online auction to support leadership program opportunities for girls. Shoppers can bid on Blue Man Group tickets, a stay at Primm Valley Casino Resorts, Las Vegas Wranglers hockey tickets, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Helicopter Fly Along and much more.

The Green Friday online auction will be powered through the Bidding for Good website with access at girlscoutsnv.org starting at midnight Friday. The auction ends at 11:59 p.m. Nov. 25. For more information, call 385-3677.

FORECLOSED UPON PETS PLANS
ADOPTION EVENT saturday

Foreclosed Upon Pets Inc. plans to host dog adoptions from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Whole Foods Market, 8855 W. Charleston Blvd.

The organization needs foster families to house the dogs and cats while forever families are found.

HELP OF SOUTHERN NEVADA LAUNCHES HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

HELP of Southern Nevada, 1640 E. Flamingo Road, is launching three of its annual programs this holiday season.

Donations to HELP's Thanksgiving program provides a holiday meal for a family of four.

The group's Adopt-a-Family program allows people to assist needy families in giving them clothing and toys for the holidays.

Lastly, the Holiday Assistance/Toy Drive benefits more than 16,000 families with its donations.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES COLLECTING TURKEYS

Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada is in need of turkeys for Thanksgiving. The social service program is providing turkeys and groceries to families in need.

This holiday season Catholic Charities expects more than 4,000 families will come seeking Thanksgiving baskets. The organization needs turkeys and traditional Thanksgiving dinner fixings.

Individuals or organizations who would like to help by donating turkeys, canned or non-perishable food can call 385-2662 or deliver donations to Catholic Charities, 1501 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

PHYSICAL THERAPISTS DONATE
PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY

Hundreds of physical therapists in Las Vegas participated in the third annual statewide Great Peanut Butter & Jelly! Challenge during October to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month and to help nourish hungry families in their communities.

In all, 1,480 pounds of peanut butter and jelly were collected and donated to Three Square food bank.
