High temperatures in Las Vegas will start the week in 70s

High temperatures in the upper 70s will start the week before creeping into the 80s by midweek, according to the National Weather Service said. The weather should be dry and sunny throughout the week.

Wind gusts also were expected to diminish before sunset Monday after a windy overnight, meteorologist Clay Morgan said. Nellis Air Force Base recorded the highest winds, with wind gusts reaching 61 mph overnight Sunday into Monday.

The forecast high for Monday is 75 degrees. Temperatures will hit 77 Tuesday, with a low of 55.

Highs are expected to remain in the low 80s through the rest of the work week, Morgan said.
