Nevada, Clark County taxable sales up in June

Nevada’s taxable sales rose to $4.87 billion in June, the Taxation Department reported this week.
That’s an increase of 9.6 percent compared with $4.45 billion in June 2015.
Clark County’s taxable sales came in at $3.6 billion, a 10.1 percent increase over June 2015.
State gross revenue collections from sales and use taxes, which help fund public services, amounted to $377.74 million in June, an increase of 8.51 percent compared with June 2015. The state general fund’s share was $94.72 million, up 7.94 percent.
Clark County utility sales shot up 134.1 percent over the year, accounting for $93.47 million compared with $39.92 million in June 2015.
Furniture and home furnishings store sales totaled $70.87 million, a 20.8 percent gain year over year.
The bulk of local sales came from food services and drinking places, which accounted for $900.94 million, climbing 6.4 percent over the year.
