Man dies in Henderson shooting, roommate arrested and charged with murder

Henderson police have arrested a man in connection with a Saturday morning shooting that left his roommate dead.

Michael Lanunziata, a 28-year-old Henderson resident, was arrested Saturday on one count of open murder, Henderson police spokeswoman Michelle French said. He is being held at the Henderson Detention Center, police said.

About 6:20 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 1100 block of Pleasure Lane, near East Paradise Hills Drive and Interstate 515, French said. Officers arrived at the home in about five minutes and found a 20-year-old white man deceased from a gunshot wound, she said.

Lanunziata was taken into custody without incident. Three people were in the home at the time of the shooting — the suspect, the victim and a female, French said.

The two men were roommates, French said. The female’s relationship to the two men is unknown. Police have not been called to the house previously for any domestic violence issues.

Henderson police said the investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they are available.

The Clark County coroner will identify the man killed once his family has been notified.

The man’s death is the sixth homicide in Henderson this year.
