Police identify suspect wanted in connection with central Las Vegas fatal shooting

Police on Saturday identified a suspect wanted in connection with Friday morning’s fatal shooting in the central valley.

The Metropolitan Police Department named Asa Brown, 22, as a suspect Saturday. He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, Metro said in a statement.

About 10:30 a.m. Friday, police officers responded to a reported shooting in an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Sierra Vista Drive, near South Maryland Parkway and East Desert Inn Road, police said. Police said they found a man on the second-floor landing suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Police said the man had argued with another man before the shooting.

The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man once his family has been notified. Metro said his death was the 118th homicide investigated in the department’s jurisdiction in 2016.

Police said anyone with information on Brown’s location or the shooting can call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
