5 inexpensive music shows coming up in Las Vegas

Heavy metal

Anvil, the Canadian metal band featured in the fittingly named 2008 film “The Story of Anvil,” shares the stage with Night Demon, Unleash the Archers and Graveshadow on Thursday at Count’s Vamp’d. Tickets are $10 in advance, and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Jettsetter

Joan Jett & the Blackhearts return to town for a free show Saturday at the Fremont Street Experience that kicks off the Rock of Vegas summer concert series.

Empire strikes back

Empire Records, a Las Vegas-based band that specializes in songs from the ’90s, plays Friday and Sunday at Brooklyn Bowl. The free 21-and-older shows start at 8 p.m.

Call of the Voivod

Voivod, another metal band from the Great White North that dates to the 1980s, performs Saturday at Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel. Tickets for the show, which also features King Parrot and Child Bite, range from $15 to $35, and the show starts at 10 p.m.

Bunny pages

On Sunday, punk rock is all the rage in Las Vegas, and in case you can’t get enough, Bunny Gang is back at Hogs & Heifers for another show benefiting the Love Hope Strength organization. The outfit will be joined by Authority Zero and the Maxies. Suggested donation is $5, and the show starts at 10 p.m.
