16-year-old boy critical after east Las Vegas Valley stabbing

A 16-year-old boy was critically wounded in an east valley stabbing early Thursday morning, Las Vegas police said.

Officers and medical crews were called about 5 a.m. to the 3000 block of Venus Circle, near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Pecos Road, said Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez.

The boy knocked on the door of a house and said he had been stabbed, Rodriguez said. The person who answered the door told officers he saw a teenage boy and girl run away.

The wounded teen, who was not cooperating with police, was taken to University Medical Center where he was in critical but stable condition, Rodriguez said. Police think the stabbing might be gang related.

No arrests have been announced.
