Clark County coroner identifies person who died in rollover crash

The Clark County coroner on Monday identified the person who died after a single-vehicle rollover crash north of Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police Department said James Leon Dailey, 28, of Henderson was racing in a Chevrolet pickup truck with three other passengers on Corn Creek Road, when the truck hit a dip in the road. Dailey, the driver, lost control; the truck ran off the roadside and rolled several times.

Dailey was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. Emergency responders determined he was beyond medical assistance, and pronounced him dead on the scene, police said.

The front-seat passenger, a 19-year-old man, was flown to the University Medical Center with serious injuries. The two passengers in the backseat, a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old woman, were taken by ambulance to UMC.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the rollover crash.
