Fire guts vacant northwest Las Vegas home

A fire destroyed a vacant home late Sunday night near Torrey Pines Drive and Washington Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the house fire on 305 N. Crestline Drive about 10:15 p.m. The one-story wood frame house was heavily engulfed by the fire and the roof was caving in when firefighters arrived. It was contained in less than 10 minutes, but the house was a loss.

Neighbors said the house had been vacant for about two years, but have seen people in and out of the home.

Damage caused by the fire is estimated at $57,000.
