Five displaced in Northwest Las Vegas house fire

Five people were displaced after a house fire in Northwest Las Vegas, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski.

Firefighters arrived at the home at 6640 Silverstream Ave. just after 5 a.m. to find fire in the ceiling and wall of a bathroom in the house.

The fire was out in less than five minutes, but caused $20,000 in damages. Investigators believe the fire was caused by electrical issues in the home.

A man and dog were inside the home when the fire began, but they weren’t injured.
