Inmate serving murder sentence dies

The Nevada Department of Corrections announced Monday that an inmate who was serving a life sentence for murder has died.

Conrado Fiel, a 59-year-old Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate, died Sunday at Regional Medical Facility. The coroner from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office will determine Fiel’s cause of the death, NDOC said.

Fiel was serving two consecutive sentences of ten-years to life in Washoe County stemming from a 1st degree murder conviction. He had been in prison since September 2004.
