Metro investigates 2 similar robberies in western Las Vegas

Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating two west valley robberies that occurred early Tuesday morning and might be connected.

The first robbery happened just before 1 a.m. at Molly’s Bar, 1021 S. Buffalo Drive, near Charleston Boulevard, officer Jesse Roybal said.

Three subjects armed with handguns entered the bar, took an unknown amount of money and fled. There were six to seven patrons inside the business at the time of the robbery, Roybal said.

Another robbery happened about 1½ hours later and less than 5 miles from the first incident. Just after 2:30 a.m. three armed subjects entered a business at 1875 S. Decatur Blvd., near Charleston Boulevard, police said.

The subjects took an unknown amount of money and other items before fleeing. This business also had patrons inside during the robbery, police said.

“Anytime we have robberies close together and that look similar, we always look into connections between the robberies,” Roybal said.
