Metro investigating central valley stabbing

One man was in custody and a second was hospitalized after a stabbing late Wednesday morning at a central valley apartment complex.

It happened about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of North Jones Boulevard, just north of Washington Avenue, Metro officer Jesse Roybal said.

Police responding to a call nearby were approached by a man who said, "Hey, I just stabbed someone," Roybal said.

The man who was stabbed was taken to University Medical Center in unknown condition with at least one stab wound to the chest, Metro spokesman Michael Rodriguez said.

Both men, whose ages were not available, appear to have known each other, Rodriguez said.

The man who approached police is in custody, Rodriguez said.
