North Las Vegas names new city spokeswoman

The new spokeswoman for North Las Vegas is Delen Goldberg, who most recently worked as executive editor of The Sunday weekly magazine and Vegas Inc.

Goldberg will handle all media communications for the city’s one-person communications team.

Reached by phone Wednesday, the day the announcement was made, Goldberg said she was interested in the job because she believed “in the city and sort of the direction that it’s going.”

Goldberg, who began working at the city on Monday, is being paid $70,000 annually, with a benefits package between $25,000 and $30,000 for the year.

She has a master’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University, and a bachelor’s in English from the University of California, Berkeley, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Goldberg replaces Mitch Fox, who left in March. Fox was paid $125,000 a year with no benefits.
