William Lyon opens neighborhood

Set amid rural estates, custom homes and the open desert with snow-capped Sheep Mountains in the backdrop is the valley's newest executive-home neighborhood, Serenity Ridge by William Lyon Homes. The gated enclave of single-story residences opened in the northwestern valley last month.

"It has been a long time since Las Vegas has seen a neighborhood like Serenity Ridge. The spacious open single-story floor plans showcase both architectural and upscale interior design and create a semicustom-home feel from a production homebuilder," sales agent Maria Bengtson said.

"Serenity Ridge is unique in that it's a neighborhood where buyers have the opportunity to first pick the home site that they want and then the floor plan that they want to build on that lot. They then have the opportunity to personalize their homes at the start of construction through myriad architectural and designer options that are usually only available in semicustom homes."

Located near the intersection of Ann Road and Grand Canyon Drive, the neighborhood showcases four model homes measuring from 3,032 to 4,000 square feet. With prices starting from $410,000, the residences feature as many as five bedrooms, 2½ to four baths and three- to four-car garages.

The homesites are terraced, offer space for recreational vehicle parking and range from 18,000 square feet to a half acre.

"All four of our model homes feature a spacious open design, upscale amenities and every option under the sun. Serenity Ridge is more like a semicustom project because they include so many features and offer so many options, both structurally and in interior design," Bengtson said, adding that a garage, bonus rooms, bar areas and extended patios can be added, per plan.

"An area where many people like to customize is their kitchens. They can customize their cabinetry, countertops and appliances. For example, if a buyer prefers cabinets other than our included raised-panel birch cabinetry, they can meet with a cabinet specialist at a design center and choose custom touches," she said. "Our buyers may also visit an appliance showroom to choose from a variety of state-of-the-art appliances. Let's say you want a larger cooktop than the include 36-inch stainless steel cooktop, a larger wall oven or two dishwashers, we will layout the kitchen differently and make it happen."

Each home includes a Tuxedo Touch home automation system, security alarm system, category-five wiring, ceiling fan prewiring, garage door opener and paver driveway and patios. Kitchens feature raised-paneled birch cabinetry, a stainless steel undermount sink, double oven/microwave (per plan), cooktop and dishwasher and granite countertops.

Also included are 10-foot ceilings, 8-foot raised-panel doors and two-tone paint throughout, as well as tile flooring in the entry, kitchen and baths.

About 40 homesites of the 88-home neighborhood have been released. Cul-de-sac and corner lots are available.

To visit Serenity Ridge at the intersection of Ann Road and Grand Canyon Drive, take the northern Las Vegas Beltway to Ann Road and head east. Or, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Ann Road exit and travel west.

The models are open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at noon. Call 702-778-6676 for details.

The builder also is constructing the all- single-story neighborhoods of Tularosa within the Mountain's Edge community, The Crossings in the northwestern valley, and Series 1 at Mountain Falls in Pahrump. Its Fields at Aliante neighborhood in North Las Vegas is in the closeout stage and attached homes are available at West Park Courtyards and West Park Villas in Summerlin.
