Knowing what submissions are used in the cage can help those watching or learning about mixed martial arts understand some of the basics of the sport.

In this video, multiple-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Robert Drysdale demonstrates the rear-naked choke submission along with Marcelo Nunes.

In 2016, 26 UFC fights ended by way of submission. Of those, 17 were by way of rear-naked choke, including Miesha Tate’s championship victory over Holly Holm at UFC 196.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and karate are just some of the disciplines on display in the sport of MMA. The moves demonstrated in this video should only be attempted by trained professionals.
