Tuesday’s schedule:

11 a.m. — $5,000 Six-handed No-limit Hold ’em (3-day event); $1,000 Super Seniors’ No-limit Hold ’em (Final table)

Noon — $1,500 “Summer Solstice” No-limit Hold ’em (Day 2); $1,500 No-limit Hold ’em (Final table)

2 p.m. — $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low/8 or Better Championship (Final table); $1,500 2-7 Limit Triple Draw Lowball (Day 2)

3 p.m. — $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Low/8; 7-Card Stud Hi-Low/8 (3-day event)

Players to watch:

* Daniel Alaei looks to successfully defend his title in the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Low/8 or Better Championship. The 31-year-old professional poker player from Los Angeles is third in chips with 16 players remaining. Other top pros in the field include Todd Brunson, Eli Elezra and Jason Mercier, who is in search of his third bracelet this summer.

* Las Vegas resident Fred Berger leads 13 other players in the $1,000 Super Seniors’ No-limit Hold ’em event. Berger is the lone bracelet winner remaining in the field and has $862,929 in career WSOP and circuit earnings.

Monday’s highlights:

* Professional poker player Viatcheslav Ortynskiy won the $3,000 buy-in Six-handed Pot-limit Omaha event ($344,327). The 36-year-old is the 10th Russian player to win a WSOP bracelet.

* Jens Grieme and Alexander Ziskin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, played heads-up for approximately five hours and couldn’t determine a winner in the $1,500 buy-in No-limit Hold ’em event. Grieme was down to one big blind at one point, but the German had the chip lead when play was halted at approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday after more than 200 hands between the two competitors.

Quotable:

“I cashed one other time. And then, I really cashed this time.” — Johnnie Craig, who won the $1,000 buy-in Seniors No-limit Hold ’em Championship in his fourth appearance in the event.
