Mets fan doesn’t regret ‘World Champs 2015’ tattoo

A lifelong Mets fan said he doesn't regret getting a tattoo of the team's logo surrounded by the words "WORLD-CHAMPS" and "2015" inscribed on his side before New York lost the World Series to the Kansas City Royals

"I'm not like, 'Oh, my God, get this tattoo off me' at all," Josh Davis told NBCNewYork.com. "I'm used to it. I know how to bounce back."

A 22-year-old college student from New Jersey, Davis said he got the tattoo on a whim hours before Game 1 of the World Series started.

"The way they beat the Cubs gave me that extra boost of confidence," he said.

Davis' friend, Kevin Hynson, posted a picture on Twitter of the tattoo on Oct. 27 with the message, "Too soon?? Lol."

Fortunately for Davis, who said he plans to add the Mets' title years of 1969 and 1986 to his tattoo, he can easily turn the five in 2015 into a six or an eight if New York wins it all in 2016 or 2018.

A Cleveland Cavaliers fan who got a "2015 NBA Champs" tattoo on his lower leg before the Cavs lost to the Golden State Warriors in last season's NBA Finals can relate.

A Chicago Cubs fan knew better than to have the year inscribed on his huge back tattoo before the title was won. He listed world champions in 1907, 1908 and 20, leaving space for the year he hopes the Cubbies win the World Series in this century.
