Member of UNLV’s 1987 Final Four team dies, school says

The UNLV men’s basketball team will play three exhibition games in Nassau, Bahamas, in mid-August.

It will be the Rebels’ first foreign preseason trip since going to Canada in 2012. Before that, the team went to Australia in 2008.

Teams are allowed such a trip every four years and 10 practices to prepare for it. The Runnin’ Rebel Club is underwriting the expenses for the trip to the Caribbean.

UNLV has not announced the schedule, but the Rebels are expected to be joined by fellow Mountain West member Wyoming as well as Wake Forest, Missouri State, Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Akron and Tarleton State. They will play games from Aug. 14 to 17.
