Florida gun store owner calls shop ‘Muslim free zone’

A Florida gun store owner is getting attention after posting a video on YouTube from his shop‘s account declaring it a "Muslim free zone."

Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hallinan, standing in front of a Confederate flag in the five-minute video, says the fatal shooting in Chatanooga, Tenn., was the "final straw" and that he wants followers of the Quran to keep away from his store.

“I believe that the vast majority of Muslims are not out to kill us. But unfortunately, the Quran, the way it’s written commands them to,” he says in the video. “But if they come in here and they say hey, I don’t believe in Jihad. And I don’t believe that killing innocent people in the name of religion is the right thing to do, they are as American as you or I."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations called for the video to be investigated by the Department of Justice, WFTS reported, because they say Hallinan is violating federal law.

Since the video has been posted on Monday, an employee has quit, WFTS said.
