Tarkanian has eye on Reid even before GOP primary

Danny Tarkanian ambles around a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Las Vegas, carrying a new basketball for his 6-year-old daughter. It’s a Sunday, a rare day of rest for Tarkanian, who’s getting ready for the first extensive rural Nevada tour of his 2010 U.S. Senate campaign. He’s made the trek many times before, as a Republican candidate for secretary of state in a statewide race he lost in 2006 — his second failure as a candidate.
