The Clark County School District announced that it has filed a lawsuit to prevent the teachers union from taking threatened actions that amount to a strike.

The Clark County School District said updates are a result of feedback that educators provided during roundtable meetings.
The agreement includes a 10 percent salary increase during the first year and 2 percent in the second.

The district announced the change in a news release Monday, saying events will be rescheduled “once labor contracts are in place with all employee bargaining units.”
Hiring events are underway this week for crossing guards, who must be at least 18 and work two hours a day.
An event was scheduled for Wednesday at Ramanos Mercato Italiano in Henderson’s Inspirada community, but the property owners and business requested the event not be held there.
School crossing guards typically work one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.
The U.S. Department of Education released state-level data Tuesday showing how many people are eligible.
The protest happened during Superintendent Jesus Jara’s “Java with Jara” community event at the Sambalatte coffee shop in northwest Las Vegas.
