Palo Verde sweeps 4A state tennis championships

The Palo Verde boys defeated Coronado 10-2 to win their fourth straight title. The girls doubled up Coronado 10-5 to end the Cougars’ hopes of a third straight crown.

Durango’s baseball team plated three runs in the bottom of the second Friday and held on for a 4-3 home win over Faith Lutheran.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Tharaldson, Crusaders outlast Western in OT

Gary Tharaldson scored seven of his game-high 18 points in overtime Wednesday to lead Faith Lutheran’s boys basketball team to a 63-54 win over host Western in a Division I-A Sunset League game.
