Man pleads guilty to enticing victim into prostitution

A Las Vegas man has pleaded guilty after authorities say he enticed a 17-year-old girl into prostitution on the Strip.

Mario Lamont Jones II, 25, pleaded guilty Friday to one count of sex trafficking and is set to be sentenced July 14, according to a news release sent Wednesday from the Nevada attorney general’s office. Jones faces three to 10 years in prison and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Metro’s child exploitation task force rescued the girl and later discovered Jones’ role in the prostitution, the news release said. It happened in March 2014.

“Under my leadership, this office will continue to protect society’s most vulnerable, especially human trafficking survivors, by aggressively pursuing justice for them,” Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt said in the release.
