Drier conditions expected in Las Vegas this week

After record-breaking rainfall over the weekend, Las Vegas Valley residents can look forward to a warmer, drier week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will bring cloudy skies and possible showers in the Spring Mountains or Red Rock Canyon, but the valley will stay dry, the weather service said. Monday’s forecast high is 60 degrees, with light winds gusting up to 25 mph.

The high will climb to 71 degrees on Tuesday with more light winds.

A storm system is expected to temporarily halt rising temperatures Wednesday, bringing in cooler temperatures through the weekend.

Wednesday’s forecast high is 67 degrees, and temperatures should fall to the lower 60s for the rest of the week.

Lee Canyon reported 25 inches of snowfall over the weekend. To check road conditions on Mount Charleston, call 511 or visit www.nvroads.com.
