2018 Flex a popular choice at Friendly Ford

A host of amenities and power plants have made the 2018 Ford Flex sport crossover a favorite at Friendly Ford, according to dealership sales consultant Sal Lugo.

“The 2018 Flex is a seven-passenger family vehicle without being called a ‘minivan,’ ” said Lugo, who has been in the car business for 12 years. “They’re very cool. People who buy them love them.”

The Flex offers a pair of available engines that include the base model 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 with 287 horsepower, a six-speed automatic transmission with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive options.

The 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin turbo V-6 generates 365 horsepower at 5,000 RPM with a six-speed Select Shift automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted saddle shifters. The vehicle has mileage ratings of 15 city/21 highway for a combined rating of 17 miles to the gallon.

Also touted by buyers of the 2018 Flex is the available cargo room.

“This is an excellent vehicle that is getting great reviews,” Lugo said. “It also has horizontal grooves in its doors evoking a Woody look without using simulated wood. Also, it has a multipaneled vista roof. ”

The ’18 Flex is available with optional heated and air-conditioned seats along with Sync-3 8-inch color LCD screen that displays phone, audio and navigation features and pinch-to-zoom functionality with navigation.

The safety features include adaptive cruise control with collision warning.
