Findlay’s 2017 Lincoln Navigator luxury for the whole family

This year the Lincoln Motor Company celebrates the 100th anniversary of its founding, which means families have been riding comfortably in Lincolns for a century. With the rollout of another Lincoln Navigator, that tradition will continue.

The Lincoln Navigator has long been a standout in the full-size luxury SUV segment. Now available at Findlay Lincoln in the Valley Automall, the 2017 Navigator boasts a long list of luxurious features.

“Among the nuances in the 2017 model is the Lincoln Drive Control,” said dealership sales consultant Frank Luciano. “The Drive Control allows you to choose among three different modes, including Comfort, Normal and Sport.” The selection will adjust the Navigator’s steering, transmission, engine and suspension.

“It’s definitely the biggest bang for your buck,” added Luciano, a seven-year veteran of the car business. “The vehicle is being purchased by large families with as many as six kids. It’s the hipper version of the ‘soccer mom’ minivan, and it’s one of our most popular vehicles.”

The Navigator is frequently at the top of many consumers’ lists, with a lot of the credit going to the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged GTDI V-6 engine, which puts out 380 horsepower and 460 cubic feet of torque and is capable of towing 9,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Given its substantial size and power, the Navigator still achieves an EPA estimated rating of 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.

Lincoln has always been known for offering a comfortable ride. “The suspension is phenomenal, so the ride is very smooth,” Luciano said.

The rear suspension is key to the vehicle’s success. A multi-link rear suspension enables each wheel to manage bumps and jolts on its own terms, providing ride quality and control.

The continuous controlled damping monitors and adjusts the system in a matter of milliseconds. Lincoln has made providing a comfortable ride into a science.

The Navigator also has strong safety features, including a backup camera, dual-stage air bags, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, adaptive headlights, ABS and driveline traction control.

The 2017 Lincoln Navigator is available starting at $63,515; the Reserve starts at $71,580.

Situated at 310 N. Gibson Road in the Valley Automall, Findlay Lincoln is headed by general manager Nathan Findlay. The dealership is part of Findlay Automotive Group, founded in 1961 by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff, now oversees operations of 28 dealerships in Nevada, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Arizona.
