Henderson Kia now taking orders for the 2016 Optima

With excitement building for the 2016 Kia Optima, Henderson Kia in the Valley Automall is already taking orders for the latest edition expected to arrive in January.

Referred to as the next-generation Optima, the 2016 model is a stellar example of Kia's continued efforts to continually update and upgrade each of its models.

The 2016 Kia Optima has a new exterior design along with a well-respected features package.

Even more impressive is Kia's added technology with direct ties to the Optima's dedication to safety. The package includes rear-camera display, surround-view monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and rear park assist system.

Highlighting the safety package is blind spot detection with lane-change assist, lane change warning system, advanced smart cruise control, premium electronic stability control, forward collision warning system, autonomous emergency braking and dynamic bending light with bi-xenon HID headlights with available headlights that are auto-leveling.

Additionally, available UVO eServices Info-tainment System provides voice-recognized technology that allows hands-free use of a phone.

The Kia's performance package is also drawing high praise. It includes a 2.4-liter gasoline direct engine with available turbo charged 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter GDI engines.

The 2016 Kia Optima's handling package includes four-wheel suspension, front MacPherson struts and a rear multilink design for smooth ride and precise handling.

"You get a lot of bang for your buck along with great gas mileage," said sales consultant Kevin Kelly. "It also has a very impressive safety system along with the 10-year, 100,000-mile power train warranty with a price point starting at about $20,000.

"This is most definitely one of the best new car purchases in the automobile industry."

Yet another interesting addition to the 2016 Kia Optima is the optional feature Qi Wireless Charger.

"With this, all you need to do is place your phone on a mat built into the center console and your phone will be charged."

Fellow sales consultant Sergio Brooks said the demand for the 2016 Optima has been strong.

"The overall following of the Optima has been good every year," he said. "It has a very loyal customer base."

In the past two months, Kelly has produced four sales of the 2015 Kia Optima model.

"The buyer profile is all over the spectrum," he said. "We're close to Anthem in Green Valley, so many of our buyers are near or at retirement age. Then again, 30-year-olds like the Kia Optima."
