Homicide victim discovered during hiker rescue near Las Vegas ID’d

A man found shot and stabbed last week in a desert area while emergency personnel were searching for hikers on Frenchman mountain has been identified.

Carlos Anton Pashaca-Rodriguez, 21, died of multiple gunshot wounds to his head and multiple stab and incise wounds, according to the Clark County coroner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.

Pashaca-Rodriguez’s body was spotted by search and rescue personnel about 3:10 p.m. Thursday near Frenchman Mountain Road, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Police said it appeared the body had been there for more than a day.
