North Las Vegas police identify man arrested and accused of firing at officer

North Las Vegas police named the man arrested and accused of firing at an officer Wednesday morning.

Mark Norsingle, 28, was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail to face charges of attempted murder of a police officer and felony evading.

Officers first responded to the 4800 block of Partegus Street, near North Decatur Boulevard and West Lone Mountain Road, where three men broke into a home, hit a woman and stole items. The preliminary investigation indicated that the suspects knew the victim.

One officer arrived on scene and saw the three suspects driving away from the area in a sport utility vehicle. The officer, a 15-year department veteran, tried to stop the vehicle when he realized the suspects were shooting at him, police said.

The suspects later stopped the car near the intersection of Craig Road and Decatur Boulevard. Two of the men stole a landscaping truck with a black landscaping trailer and drove away. Those two suspects were described only as a black man and a white man. The stolen truck was described as a gray GMC Sierra, with Nevada license plate 214YWW.

Police took Norsingle into custody shortly afterward.

The officer wasn’t injured and didn’t fire his weapon. The woman sustained nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

North Las Vegas police are investigating and ask anyone with additional information to call the department at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
