Nevada Ballet Theatre single tickets go on sale for fall

Talk about Christmas in July.

Single tickets for Nevada Ballet Theatre’s “The Nutcracker” go on sale Tuesday.

But there’s more to NBT’s 2014-15 season than the holiday favorite.

NBT’s season kicks off Sept. 20-21 at The Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall with Act I of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” with choreography by the legendary George Balanchine to Felix Mendelssohn’s score, inspired by William Shakespeare’s classic comedy. (Rounding out the evening: “Seasons,” set to another classical masterpiece: Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”

“A Choreographer’s Showcase,” NBT’s annual collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, returns to Treasure Island’s Mystere Theatre Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, followed by “The Nutcracker’s” return to The Smith Center Dec. 13-14 and Dec. 19-21.

Tickets to all three fall presentations are available online at www.NevadaBallet.org, at The Smith Center box office (361 Symphony Park Ave.) or by telephone at 702-749-2000.

Rounding out NBT’s season: a gala performance feature a variety of yet-to-be-announced works and guests artists (Feb. 21 at The Smith Center), a subscribers-only “Studio Series” program (March 26-29 at NBT’s Summerlin Studios) and “Giselle” (May 9-10 at The Smith Center).
