ABC’s ‘Nashville’ drops the soap for a night

If you’ve lost track of who’s sleeping with whom, who’s feuding with whom, and why on ABC’s “Nashville,” and you secretly wish they’d just shut up and sing, you’re in luck.

“Nashville: On the Record” (10 p.m. Wednesday, KTNV-TV, Channel 13), an offshoot of the show’s online series, features cast members performing at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium.

Hayden Panettiere (Juliette), Charles Esten (Deacon), Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Sam Palladio (Gunnar), Jonathan Jackson (Avery), Chris Carmack (Will), Will Chase (Luke) and Chaley Rose (Zoey) will sing songs from the show at the landmark theater.

Many of them will then sit down at the Bluebird Cafe to talk about those tunes with the songwriters who penned them..

The web series “On the Record” follows the songwriting process, from guitar demo to music video, for the original songs featured on “Nashville.”
